Best thing I can recommend is build your own much cheaper and as strong as you want it my husband made a massive one from 16 gauge wire 3x2 wood and corrugated roofing ill get some pics and post

That has also been a suggestion. I've had a look on pinterest and seen some how to tutorials. I don't know how big yours is GGBEAR, but I've got approx. 9×4ft (max) to play with if I position it against our 6ft fence.

Hi everyone. I'm in Leeds, West Yorkshire. I'm a newbie myself, but my hubby kept our first flock of RIR'S until a fox attacked them. I'm in the process of landscaping our garden and still need to purchase another coop and chickens. Where would you say is the best place to purchase a coop? Our first coop was my bro-in-law's handmedown to start us off. I'm looking to house 3-4 possibly hybrids like Warren etc. Any suggestions?

Hiya and welcome to BYC! My husband made all of our coops, as the ones we saw available were either way too expensive or really bad quality. Good luck whatever you choose to do!

didn't think there was so many active I joined a couple of months ago but this is my first post on this thread! I'm from Suffolk if @Yorkshire coop you remember I was the nutjob that wanted to raise chickens on her rather large balcony? Well I took the plunge and hatched some ebay eggs lol I have 7 5 week old chicks a Cuckoo Marans bantam female chick only one that's sexable, a sweet dumpy little chocolate Orpington and 5 Silkies 3 black, 1 white and 1 I believe to be red? Then I got the bug and hatched some more Silkies lol 3 little Paints, a partridge and 2 black/dark blue? chicks.... My Miniature Paints will be staying with me in a coop on my balcony and have the full run of it and become therapy pets for my autistic son they'll grow up to be tiny birds that can't fly too well I'll be getting an allotment plot sometime around end of September/October so my older chicks will be going to live there... still got the bug so I'm incubating a few more then they'll be grown on and I'll decide which ones to keep... My friend is after a few older Silkies so they won't be hard to find homes for anyway hello to all the other UK members

I know I to was shocked to see how popular chicken and duck keeping is I love it all with individual personalities.
I've had chickens for over a year and lost my first 5 to a fox attack so started again a few months later and also purchased 2 young Indian runner ducks their also comical the best pet I've ever had

As promised here's a couple of pics of me coop my hubby made he never made it from any plans just had a idea in his head I think the measurements are 10foot in length 3foot wide and about 5 foot 10 tall my chickens and ducks love it and it took him 3 days to make

Na then lass (yep, I'm a Tyke from Wakefield but living in Kenya) the Eglu coops appear to be popular in the UK, but expensive but don't look like they would take up much space. I need to build another coop and was looking at plastic garden sheds. A small shed would allow you to put a perch, keep your feed under cover and nests while also giving you space to keep your feed etc etc.

Hello UK subscribers, I'm in the West Midlands, I have a mixed flock of 21 (some pictured in the photo) and 5 ducks. I'm lucky, I have a 120 metre long garden and my coop is 2 old dog kennels knocked into 1, with a load of perches. We've had 4 chicks off 2 broodies so the coop is a little full as we've had to move the Mum's and chicks into 2 dog crates...a few more weeks and I think they'll all be back together to roost. So glad to come across a UK post. ..there's not many!
