Mine too is a constant battle with them. Yes the creosote worked but it just moved them to different areas. I’m still spraying the coop at least every other day if not everyday when I spot them. You just have to keep batting on, I’m throwing all I can at them! I’m on the verge though of binning the coop!
You should get some guineas. Thankfully I don't get ticks in with mine. There was a thread a while back from someone who had lymes disease from ticks. It was devastating.Thank God I don't have to contend with them, ticks are bad enough. The ticks don't bother the chickens but both dogs have now been infected with Lyme disease - vet bills $$$, even I got a dose

I can just imagine the $$$
It was tight squeeze trying to get in there to remove them as the ears were small and the ticks had gorged. Plus the ferret was being a ferret & ferreting about!
