Well I have 11 perches in there now and only 4 are being used now! That could be a problem having to remove all the birds but if they are all loft flying it could be a great opportunity. Failing that I'd just try and do it in sections and block parts off. Thats great your birds are all coming back! Boomer is on her second loft flight as I write this! I didn't even see where she went or which direction. I'm trying not to worry! La La La La!!!You must be happy to see those first eggs! Get ready to add more perches.
Regarding the disinfectant - I notice the instrucciones say to remove all animals prior to use and return them after rinsing and drying. I'm trying to envision myself wrangling 15 birds including nestlings and housing them somewhere else for the time needed to accomplish this. My floor is solid and would take awhile to dry compared to your wire floor. This may well be a safe product, my lack of knowledge on this just makes me nervous. lol
Btw, I let the all my birds out this morning for the first time and all are back in the loft. They did not go far from the loft this time.![]()
Whoop! I just went out to rattle a can and she was stood on the trap! I'd put a piece of plastic on the mesh landing platform and she jumped straight down and through the bobs into the loft for food! I'm feeling alot more confident now!

Sometimes it takes many days of intense courtship before the female is ready. If it was me I would send her with the male who has been trying to pair up.I've been loft flying boomer a bit now and she seems happy to have an hour or two out and about. I want to try another bird with her but I'm not sure which would be best. Obviously I'm not letting either of the other two females so it leaves the males. There is the male that had the first nest, then the male that had the second nest. The last male that is also 2017 had been trying to pair up with her but she doesn't want anything to do with it. He follows her around the loft and tries to get her in the nest bowl. She's having non of it! So who would be a reasonably safe bet to follow her and return? Or should I not for a while yet?

I was thinking he might be best! Love is blind and all that! She is playing hard to get!Sometimes it takes many days of intense courtship before the female is ready. If it was me I would send her with the male who has been trying to pair up.
But then I am missing one bird since Monday afternoon.![]()

Oh no. Which one are you missing? Not one of the youngsters is it?
