Ulcer on leg

I would get some Hibiclens chlorhexidene or Betadine (Equate Wound Antiseptic) in the first aid aisle at Walmart. Use a small amount in your warm water soak to the leg. Apply the antibiotic ointment twice a day. You can get amoxicillin online but it can take a week to get it. Your regular vet might be better and faster to consult. Here is a link for the amoxicllin, and dosage is 250 mg twice a day given orally for 7-10 days.

In addition to what @Eggcessive has advised, in order to maximize the effectiveness of the Triple antibiotic ointment to treat a possible staph infection, bandage it. This is in addition to cleaning the wound each day with Hibiclens. You would probably need to only apply the ointment once a day if you bandage.

To bandage a leg, use a non-stick pad over the wound and use Vetrap, an elastic bandage found where the horse supplies are in the store, to wrap the wound so dirt won't get into it. It sticks to itself so end the wrap at the back of the shank so the hen can't work it loose with her beak. It also helps to split a twelve inch long strip in half lengthwise to make it fit a skinny chicken leg better.
