I had a bad experience with a clown when I was a kid, so my fear is justified. I was at a carnival, a clown was doing balloon animals. He had me hold onto one end of the empty balloon because you have to stretch them first. I accidentally let go, and it snapped back at him. So then he had me hold it again, and he let his end go on purpose. It was just a very mean thing for a clown to do.
A few months ago, I was driving to work on an overcast morning, and I kid you not, there was a clown standing in the middle of the street. With the gloomy weather, and the bright colors, it did look like a scene from IT. The church I was driving by was having a car wash, and the clown was just trying to attract attention. But it was really scary!
