Hey guys.
I urgently need advice
I hatched 2 store bought eggs. The firsts egg yolk didn't completely absorb. It's hanging out. It kicked it and the yolk ruptured. Chick is still lively and wanting to move around. What can I do to save it. Note: From South Africa

I was thinking of tying it off with string and cutting because he is pulling at it as he's moving and he doesn't stay inside a cup in incubator.

The only thing I can suggest is to coat the sac with an ointment like Bacitracin or Triple antibiotic ointment. Place the chick in a coffee or tea cup lined with paper towels and put the chick back in the incubator. Hopefully the egg sac will absorb and the navel will close.

Thanks. I did end up doing something like that for through the night. When I got there this morning the egg sack had dried out and was stick to the paper. And the egg yolk is smelling bad. The chick is still very active and kicking at it
