Unabsorbed yolk

That's great. Poor babies not knowing who mamas are, I had something similar when my Muscovy's hatched Runners and Buffs a few years ago,3mamas at once taking ducklings out for trips and all ducklings would line up behind one mama which left 2 mamas with out any babies. It's funny thinking about it now but getting those babies back with their original mamas was left up to me that was not fun. I swore I'd never do that again have 3 ducks sitting on eggs at one time. Hopefully both of your mamas are doing a good job mothering these ducklings. Boy my Muscovies do not like to share when it comes to eggs and ducklings.

Maybe mamas were helping these ducklings out of the egg to fast was one reason for the yolk problem? the chicken just sits and lets nature take it's course? Just happy they are all doing good.

Yeah, I think that’s what was happening!
Just a quick question, how long does it take for the duckling to start zipping after it has externally pipped? It’s been over 24 hours and the rest of the eggs are still doing nothing other than chirping

It's not uncommon for them to go longer than 24 hrs as long as they sound strong all is well.

this is what @WVduckchick shared on another thread.

It will usually internally pip fairly quickly after the draw down is complete, like within 12-24 hours. Then you have 24 hours possible before external pip, then 24-48 more hours before zipping. But those are the upper ranges. Each stage can be much shorter.
