UNANSWERED POSTS

I, also, look through the unanswered posts regularly (when I'm here). If I don't know an answer but feel it needs an answer I respond to the poster just to let them know their post has now been seen and to get it back to the top so someone with the answer may see it.

With thousands of posts happening so quickly it's easy for a post to get lost quickly. I don't want people to think that nobody cares about their question, people just need to realize how many posts there are here each day.

oh yeah, thousands of posts! This has got to be the busiest board I've been on too.

once I sat here for 6 hours just reading.

I still feel kinda dumb when I ask questions. Like I'm getting on everyone's nerves from all the stupid stuff I have to ask! Usually everyone tries to pitch in when there are problems between users, and there are a few who like to make waves (not that it's always a bad thing, but sometimes it is). Everyone just tries to get along, which is awesome. I think it's because of how helpful this site is, and it would suck so bad to have it go to cr*p because a bunch of people want to mess everything up.

Depending on how much time I have, I try to answer all the unanswered posts whenever I come across them, even if it's just a 'look at my pics' post. I know I love it when people answer my posts, even if just to say congrats or cute chicks or whatever, so I try to do the same. Makes you feel like a part of everything here!

I try to answer unanswered posts when I can. I have notice several lately, I wonder if everyone is busy right now getting the kids ready to go back to school?

As far as the search feature, I am glad we have it and I do use it. But I can tell you when I am worried with a sick chicken....it brings up tons of threads that I have to search through that might or might not apply. Some times I need an quicker response, even if it's only something like " it's okay, hold on, we can find an answer somewhere." While I try to get my wits back about me.

If I can offer anything sensible, I will respond to some of the unanswered ones. I've seen where people have been crying for help and still no responses.

This has become a little bit of a sore spot with me personally and I don't visit quite as often as I was before just for this very reason. I'd submit something and more times than not, it wasn't responded to.

YEP!

That's how I feel. If you can't find it after at least making an effort to find it then ask the question. I've seen where people have just flat out said they didn't want to take the time to look for the answer.

I think one thing to keep in mind, as you find someone isn't using the search feature when you think they should, they may also just need contact. It's a lonely world out there.

True, one does end up answering already-answered questions. As a retired teacher I did get used to that!

I've had the same thing happen to me so I figured they were not good enough for my time

O k I feel dumb now. How do you mark a section from someone eles's responce to place it in my responce. I hit the quote at the bottom right but all I could make it do was print the entire quote. All this new technology is baffeling for an older person not raised in the day of technology??????
