Misfit is an approximately 2-year-old silky. Please watch video let me know what you think could be wrong? This Comet and another gal was also laying in a strange position. Do they sometimes lay like this? TIA.https://youtu.be/Hnzrm0XtaRI

It could be a temporary vitamin E deficiency. It could be dehydration. It could be an avian virus. It could be exposure to a neurotoxin such as mold.

The first couple are easily treated and should show immediate improvement. If not, then you need to start thinking of the more serious causes.

Try vitamin E 400iu, one whole capsule daily until you see symptoms disappear. For dehydration, electrolytes, but if you tried Save-a-chick and don't see improvement soon, then dehydration isn't likely the issue.

She's worse! Can't even walk now! I do spoon dripped the save s chick. How fast wait would vitamin e work? Help please! No vet possible.

The electrolytes would work within an hour to revive her if this was dehydration. If this is a vitamin E deficiency, the E would work within a day or two, if not within hours.

That she's declining so fast may mean this is one of the worse things.

Have you added any new birds to your flock recently? Was your silkie vaccinated for Mareks disease? That could be a possible problem. I had a vaccinated hen who lost balance and could not stand for more than a couple of seconds, and she remained that way for 5 weeks. She did eventually recover. I would treat with the vitamins as Azygous recommended. If she dies, a necropsy could be done by your state vet to look for a cause.

No test for Mareks. Nobody new added, except 3 at Christmas and they were chicks.

I did lose a hen about 2 weeks ago with a spinal injury (probably?) She ended up not being able to walk also, but I thought it was because of injury after being thrown over the gate and landing hard? But similar to this? So could be Mareks?? She was about a year. If this is Mareks, am I going to lose all my birds? Are the eggs I'm getting now safe to eat if the others have it?

They're has been some reshuffling of the pecking order since then and I'm only getting 4 eggs a day now instead of 7. The silky Misfit basically only lays a small, yolkless egg every month or so.
