UNBELIEVABLE NEGLECT! POOR PUP!

Poor girl. She looks like like a big ole love bug too. I can only pray that her former owner gets what she/he gave. It is deplorable.

She looks like she is part Mastiff if so, she is gonna be a HUGE girl.

Oh poor baby! She is so pretty! Darn it! I wish I was closer. Poor poor baby. I sure hope someone takes her soon.

You're right Angie and that is still done here alot for mange and it does work. Poor puppy, hope it heals and gets a forever family...

Most likely the poor pup has autoimmune problems, like others have said. If a daily eye was kept open for things that pop up, it wouldn't be such a big deal, usually. I have two autoimmune weimaraners, its heritary. If the adult dog or grump has an autoimmune disease, it should never be bred because you end up w/pups that suffer their entire lives from one thing or another. My two are "only" hypothyroid" and get a tab twice a day. One of them also has seasonal allergies that I treat with a daily spoon of honey, ingested. Most of my dogs are allergic to corn, one of the fist three or four ingredients listed in most dog/puppy kibbles.

Saving this pup and ensuring it never had puppys or impregnanted another dog would be very rewarding, it only takes heart and determination- four hundred dollars is nothing compared to a life. If a veterinarian would take payments and someone was willing to spend the time to do the baths and give their heart, responsibly.

I always ask myself: What if that poor soul was me? What if that suffering soul was a child? That always has the same answer- Just do it! Why has someone waited this long? Because others have turned a blind eye...our rescue person is not the first person to see how this pup has suffered. Others have turned their backs and shielded their eyes, repulsed, instead of lending a helping hand.

One of the very first reasons I liked this group is because so many members have a caring heart and also knowledge in working w/animals, knowledge of health issues and they "Just do it" when something lands in their lap- they don't waste time but do the right thing...

I am so excited! Mastiff rescue has contacted me and they are talking to their vet to see if they can get her in for treatment!! They are trying to find a foster for her!! I so hope we can do this!! For some reason I really want to try to save this girl. She has touched me. There are so many that come and go.......... I am praying for an angel at Mastiff rescue.

I hope they can treat her. Unfortunatley a lot of people dont give a hoot about this kind o dog and lots more end up being put down.

I, too, worked at a humane society for a time. It's hard, heart wrenching work. I feel for you. you've got to be strong to stick with it.

I used to rescue St Bernards. There was an idiot here who consistantly bred dogs with demodectic mange. Pretty sure it was her female. My last rescue was one of these. People got him and chained him outside when he got too big. He had not only full blown demodectic mange, but a skin fungus when I rescued him. Took almost a year to get his skin to 'normal' and he still never got hair back on top of his hips.

Glad I read this. I was getting ready to post the same thing. If you use "used" motor oil on them, they will not dig and scratch at it. The new stuff now smells good to them and they just lick it off. It's kinda like treated ear mites with baby oil.
