I'm really interested in the history of this topic. Does anyone know of any good books or websites that cover the history of "Uncle Sam Expects You..." to the current situation where a lot of places don't allow chickens in the backyard?
History is a funny thing. Especially when it comes down to a court proceeding.
In my recent case, I tried to enter this poster as evidence but it was over-ruled as being too old to be valid. Never mind that the city ordinance is over 52 years old. And that State Law supersedes local ordinance.
They even have a revised one with zombies on it, lol... in case of a zombie attack so funny. I love the original and need to save it for my fight to keep chickens in my yard!
This is very cool. Gives me an idea. We should campaign for easing of laws concerning the things that make individuals self sufficient by using official government literature from when it was not only legal but expected that you look after yourself
