Hi everyone! I recently treated my entire flock and every coop for what I thought were mites. I've used ivermectin and a single dose of elector psp that I bought. I see bugs on the eggs and my birds have eggs by their ears and faces. I am at a loss. The elector psp seemed to help a little, but it obviously didn't finish the job. I'm looking into Permethrin spray and DE or Lime. I'm gonna get pictures of the eggs on them to post here. Does anyone have any advice for me? What else could I use to help my birds. My rooster is missing feathers and my birds aren't gaining any weight because of this. I'm desperate to help them.

You should use permethrin poultry dust. You need to treat them ASAP, if they have mites on their faces they have a severe infestation. Until you can get the permethrin I would give them baths with dawn dish soap as long as its warm outside.

They are only by their ears. I've treated them several times. The problem is I have around 30 birds. As only one person it will be hard. It is very warm outside to the point it is pushing 100 everyday. Do I have to soak them or just bathe them?

The mites are only around their ears? Have you checked around their vent for mites and their eggs? It would be hard to bathe all those chickens.

Oh I forgot to say I don't soak them I just give them a bath around their vent.

It's much easier to spray them at night when they are on the roost. Get the permethrin liquid concentrate. Also you need to clean out and spray the coop thoroughly.

Not mites. Eggs. The only bugs I’ve seen are on the chicken eggs and the door to the coop. I check frequently for eggs around the vent and see none. I took pictures of the eggs I could see. It’s hard to see. I’m gonna try and get a pic on one of my darker birds.

I will. I treated the entire coops with elector psp about a bit ago and I was told that would do the trick so I was waiting for results but my birds never started gaining weight. I posted a pic of some eggs on my white hen. Here’s one one of my darker birds. I can’t tell if they’re eggs or just parts of the feathers. The eggs are no where near as bad as they were before.

Oh, you mean eggs? Sorry I misunderstood you.
