Under my quail pens where the poop lands are hatching some type of meal worm looking things, anyone know what they are?

Oh, I forgot! Soldier flies are tiny, so the wasp-like insects are likely unrelated.

Okay! So I learned that soldier flies actually look like little wasps. Never knew this, so it was cool to learn something new. I guess I didn’t pay attention to the flying ones, I was so excited to see the larvae!

I know this is an older post, but I sure wish I knew this last fall! I was going through my worm composting bin and cleaning up any yuck before I moved it inside for the winter. I found a ton of those in the bin. I would’ve kept them for the chickens!!
