Underground RR Quilt Block

Hmmmm with the 5 inch square sewn onto the 10 inch square is it important the 5 inch square has pinked edges. It seems it is in order to fray the right way. At least it seems like that is what she referred to in the video. Anyone else hear that?

also another quilt that turned out really nice is one I did that used 10" and 5" squares, you center the 5" in the middle of your 10" sew the 5" a 1/4 to an 1/8 in yes you will have raggy edges, you want this, now cut the whole block into four (cut in half then cut in half again) now mix up your blocks and sew them back into a 10" square (the edges will not line up perfectly and that is ok, this is a rustic quilt when washed the edges curl and finish off the rustic look.

i like this one too

Wow, is that one (disappearing 9 patch) ever easy! We could have that one done in a heartbeat. We would just make 12 of the 9 patches to send out, right? Then the recipient could cut them up. If we used 8-1/2 inch blocks instead of 5 inch, the size after cutting would be a nifty 12-1/2" or maybe not. Doing the math right now is hurting my head.

Perhaps just do them the size they state (5") and we can send out 24 of them instead of 12 but still just have 12 participants.

And my baby is here. She was born on the 8th. She is precious

Congratulations! Welcome little one. What a blessing to have a baby in the house.

Here is a picture some one used Kansas Trouble line with a center black square to make the disappearing nine patch. It also looks like darker squares were used for the corners and lighter for the in between squares with a black square in the center.

There is another block on miss star quilt.
This would be a better one than the five and dime, there are too many pit falls for a block swap with that one.
I'm liking this one too. So easy with lots of whole quilt design options. I am okay with whatever colors are decided on.
