Understanding Splits and Sex-linkage With Lacing Gene

My Gold partial laced orp (posts #25 and #35 in this thread) turned out to be a pretty pullet. She was a rather ugly chick but looked OK by 5-6 months old. She was sold so my GLOs ended there. Too many pretty birds..... not enough space to keep them all.

Sorry! Lol The creation of Silver-laced Blue, Splash, and Lavender Orpingtons.
I have a project of using Lavender and Blue Laced Red... and would like hear about your results. 😬
So crossed Silver-laced Orpington male over Blue Orpington females resulted in two faintly laced Silver-laced Blue hens (F1). Breeding them back to an unrelated Silver-laced male produced beautifully laced Silver-laced Blue pullets. The local bobcat went through the covered top of the pen after pulling a dead turkey up there with her. She murdered all the birds from that project. I'll revisit as soon as I have the pen space.

I hate that for you especially when u put all that time and effort into a project. Okay! So I should see slight lacing in F1. Hopefully, I'll find out in a couple of weeks. I have 5 dark chicks that could be Blue or Black with a lil red on their heads.

I only noticed it in their hackles. If you go to the Fairy Tail Farms page here and scroll through there, you should see some photos of the F1 hen. I’m not sure I ever posted pics of the F2s, as the only pictures I have of them are of their dead bodies.
