Unexpected hatch. Chick rubbed raw on turner.

Back when I was young and stupid (and drunk)...... I once put a cigarette out on my finger. The next few days a huge blister formed and I didn't pop it for about a week until I had enough of looking at the thing, so I said my goodbyes, grabbed a sewing needle and burst it open! Liquid was oozing out but I just washed it off, bandaged it up and it eventually healed itself with no scars or anything. What I'm trying to say is, it's not a big deal and your chicken will be fine.

Except, she isn't looking fine at the moment. She is looking like a failure to thrive chick. She is a month old and is starting to go down hill. She isn't growing like she should and she is moving slower than she used to. Plus a quarter sized blister on a tiny chick is a much larger wound for its body size than a cigarette burn on the finger of an adult human. I'm going to do what I can, but I'm prepared for it if she doesn't make it.

Sadly, the poor thing died overnight. I was expecting it. She looked really horrible yesterday, spending most of the time under the heater plate. I'm surprised she lived as long as she did.
