@Redhead Rae thank you so much.
Look at those feet! He is able to walk now, like every normal chicken. And he loves it!
I still think that he has a kind of mental disability. He has problems with his sense of equilibrium and stumbles a lot. He has started to use his wings to help him balance and thus improved, but he is still falling over every few steps. I hope he gets even better. We named him Dizzy for his disability!
Yes, I am prepared for the worst, even though it will break my heart... he's not doing too well and you can feel that he's just bones and not gaining weight. He only eats live mealworms and refuses chick feed. I don't mind caring for him right now, but in the long run I won't be able to feed him multiple times a day forever. At some point he will have to feed on his own, or he will die. I don't regret helping him either. He had a few nice days so far, and since the beginning I've had a feeling that maybe he wasn't supposed to hatch for a reason. I'll let you know how he goes! One of two things will happen, your chick will get stronger and be perfectly fine, or it won't. I've had several problem chicks grow up to die weeks or months later. They usually stay on the small side if that happens. I don't regret helping the chicks. They lived good lives until they died.

Just hatched! Number two is in the middle of zipping. Sadly we lost the third egg three days ago. So just two little starlings for now!
Just hatched! Number two is in the middle of zipping.
I feed them a mixture of cat food and egg yolk every 30 minutes.
How will you feed them?
