Unexpected hatching - help!

Anna and Elsa have gone to their new home and met their new friend! They are now happy backyard chickens.
I was very nervous about putting them with an old chicken, but my friend didn't want to give her back, as she would've gone back to life in a dark garage if they didn't work out. Her friend died a few weeks ago of old age, so she was lonely. I expected fighting, but she was super calm and nothing happened for 15 minutes, after that there was just a bit of chasing and they settled quickly. Worked out really well!

Anna and Elsa, love it. I have two chickens called that, not my idea though.

Good news: Two of my roos are going to see the vet on wednesday! Now I'm ecstatic, but I can't decide on number two. I have two that I really like, but I can already tell that one of them is going to be the same colour as every other rooster down at the farm, making it really difficult to tell him apart which I kinda don't like. The other option is big roo. He's very sweet, but might turn out to be the same colour anyway (since he's white now) and he's very dominant and strong which I think suits him a lot more than being a capon.
The one I have decided on, I chose because of the color: it's the grey one. Down at the farm, we have only one grey rooster and he looks exactly like mine. I'm hoping he will stay grey, and we will always be able to spot him!

They are going to have a nice little operation which will prevent them from fathering offspring! Meaning I can keep them at the free range farm even though they don't want any roosters because of reproduction issues! :celebrate
Makes me really happy because I don't have to let all six of them go. The others are going to a nice home as well!

Ah, so caponizing is allowed and available there?
I would think aggression issues would trump reproductive issues.

If done by a vet, yes. True, aggression is also a thing but for the farm, the unregulated reproduction is more of an issue as there are effectively zero natural enemies here so they just get more and more, and the farm lady decided that they have to stop because they will honestly overrun this place!

The surgery went well! The vet said they are confident about both of them and I should watch to see how they grow up now. They are back to normal and still super friendly.
The other four have gone to a new home! There is a crazy chicken lady an hour from my place who took them gladly. She has a ton of roos in a boys only pen.
Tahi was on her own for two days and one night. Enough despair for her to finally fly! She went over the garden gate so many times and started flying up in trees where I couldn't get her, so I decided to reunite her with her two buddies. A bit earlier than the vet recommended but she was so happy! They have all moved to the farm now, and tomorrow I'm finally going to leave the cage door open! I can't believe I'm already letting them go. I'll still be putting out food for a while but hope they'll be integrated in the local flock soon!

How much did the vet charge to do both boys?
