He looks so much better already. Amazing what some TLC can do. I'd try and find duck specific feed or an all flock and add some Liquid B complex to his treats at least for a week or longer, it can help with strength and any niacin deficiency he may have. No telling how long he'd been dumped there? TSC has Durvet liquid B complex. It will say injectable but we give it orally. 1 ml over peas or meal worms. Also check the bottom of his feet for bumble too. He is beautiful by the way.

Things I noticed about his bath... Yesterday his eye was all watery and I thought it was damaged, but after his bath today, it looks perfect. No damage, no cloudiness. It's clear and round. I was surprised that he got waterlogged so fast, and I'm still wondering when he was ever actually in water. I'm in Rhode Island, the lake he was near is half frozen over, so if he had gone in there, he would have been in trouble. He's shivering right now, so he's next to the radiator on some warm towels.

He also seems to be a lap duck. He seems to enjoy sitting on us, doesn't mind gentle hugs and pets, and even likes my daughters (ages 7 and 9) and will sit on them, too. He was making happy sounds when I was holding him wrapped in a towel

That is so sweet makes you wonder why someone would dump that sweet boy. We know he didn’t just wander up there. Great his eyes are okay after a bath. Once he starts pruning good he’ll spread his oils over his feathers and get them water proofed. I’d say he has found a wonderful home!

We're headed out to Tractor Supply Co for proper duck food (I wanted to let him stretch after a night in a pet carrier, eat and have a bath first), so I'll look for some of those other things, too!

Watch out chick days may have already started. lol.
Yes, that is why I have tried to stay away from there before! :D Years ago, we rescued a young Easter Egger that someone brought to us, thinking it was a baby hawk. She was my first chicken, I fell in love with her, and I know I will have very little willpower if I see all those little babies for sale. I must be strong!
