Unexpected Rooster Questions

Then I'd be getting rid of them now, as soon as possible. They were free, if you can get a dollar each you're making money. You should be able to tell them from your pullets by how they all look alike. go ahead and get a pic up on CL or wherever while they're still little and cute fuzzy butts and get out from under them.

In the future, if you don't want or can't keep males, work with the hatchery. They'll add heat packs, or have you increase your minimum order, something like that to avoid having excess packing peanuts.

X 2 - other options to have a larger order to attempt to avoid packing peanuts is to combine with a friend, neighbor, etc for your order so the total order is larger and you still have the luxury of more breeds to choose from than going to the local retailer to purchase chicks (also a way to avoid extra birds/packing peanuts - just more limited selection)

Alright, I will see what I can do about selling them. Right now I can't tell them apart because I have several different breeds and they are the same breeds as the ones I purchased.
Thanks for your help.

Even a 3 month old makes a good fryer. Not a lot of meat but it sure is tasty. Most of mine don't start to crow until 3 to 4 months old so you have a little time before the law comes after you.

Ditto Dat^^^^ by the time they start crowing, they're just the right size to still be able to grill(about 14-16 weeks) and the bones make awesome stock.
