Unformed egg hanging out my pullett's butt! Will she get egg yolk periontitis?

My blue Andalusian pullet just started laying eggs this week. Yay! she's laid two just fine and then today she was having a hard time pooping and I looked and found what appeared to be a partially formed egg hanging out of her butt. Yuck! We got it out but now I'm worried that the yolk was broken inside of her. There was some yoke dripping out of her butt when this happened. Should I be worried about egg yolk periontitis??

Yes. Any time a yolk collapses inside a hen, it can start to grow bacteria. She should go on a round of antibiotic. I use Fish Mox. It's amoxicillin for fish but works for chickens just fine. I get it here. https://www.kvsupply.com/item/aqua-mox-250mg-capsules-100-count/P06184/

I give all pills directly into the beak. Chickens have no trouble swallowing pills. Any broad spectrum antibiotic will work.

Hi @aart! It was soft. Almost looked like scrambled egg whites. A tiny bit of yoke was dripping out too.
