I've had roosters who have attacked people, but ungentlemanly roosters just make me sick. THAT is where I would draw the line. My boys in the past might have been picking fights with the wrong species, but they gave everything they found to the girls. Every treat was for the quickest lady, unless they quietly snuck it to themselves, which didn't happen very often.

He's supposed to be watching after his flock. But he can't do that if he's always stuffing his face and hurting his hens. I agree, Mr. Turken is digging his own grave.

And yeah, the 'mean gene' is thought to be genetic. Had a mean d'Uccle boy, bred him to my friendly Polish, what popped out was 100% the d'Uccle's spawn, a demon cockerel about 9 months in the making. You do NOT want that in your flock.

Yeah, water guns are great for mean roos and nasty cats!

However, any roo who doesn't share food with his girls and treat them with respect gets a boot around here!!!

In mammals, the flower essence Tiger Lily reduces aggression and brings out feminine qualities. You would be able to get some in a health food store, or order it online. I put a few drops on the head of my alpha cat, Smokie and he stopped beating all the other cats up! You may also be able to find a homeopathic that you could drop into the water. I gave Smokie coffee cruda when he had hyperthyroid disease and it really helped him calm down and get some sleep. I'm a newbie in terms of chickens. Flower essences are alcolhol based and I've heard they don't do well with it. I would drop a drop on the feathers. Good Luck!
