Ok my 3ish week old button quail lost his buddies today , they were chicken chicks and just to big for me to keep any longer , I sold them to a friend for a few dollers who just had a 0% hatch but now I have a very lonely confused baby button, Im hopeing the little button that hatched yesterday and today will be big enough for him soon ,
any suggestions , older buttons wont pine away and die alone will they , is there anything I can do for the days or weeks it takes till the others are bigger? can I just toss the others in when there big enough are buttons territoral?

Thank you

I believe someone else had said to divide the brooder? What is the older one in? If you have something clear, like an aquarium or clear tote to keep the babies in, you should keep them next to each other. I'm not sure about older ones, but I know babies will die if they are all alone. The ones hatching now should be big enough to put with that one in like a week, they grow pretty fast. Just keep them where they can see each other, so they get used to being around one another. If you have a big enough brooder, you can put the older one in with the babies, in a week or so, so the older one doesn't have to be under the light, but he or she will still have some buddies. Just be sure to watch them and see if the bigger one is being a butt.

The babies are in a wire hamster cage so that my cat cant get them , with a solid floor Im gonna scrub out the brooder the chicks were in tonight when My son goes to bed then put the cage in the brooder so he can see them , I just wasnt shure if they are territoral or anything with other buttons , as juvies or adults
Another button just hatched , I tought the buttons were done took them all out and put htem in there brooder as some had hatched as long as 24 hours ago and now theres another one , I dont want to open it again I have a cortunix looking like its starting to zipp
Oh the cortunix can go in with the baby buttons right ?

edited to say solid not wire

The coturnix can go with the Buttons I did it they where fine. Quail can be very mean I think buttons are the meanest.
Try giving the lone one a stuffed animal.
And where are the pictures

Two weeks ago I had a single button hatch. It was a lonely little crying baby. I called around and found someone 30 minutes drive away who had week old buttons. I got one and they get along fine. Nine days later, 5 more buttons hatched and when they were a few days old I put them in with the other 2. They get along fine. Three days ago, 8 more hatched and today I put them all together. So far I have seen no picking on each other at all. Hope it stays that way, but for now everyone is getting along good.
