Don't know if this is the right place to be asking this, but it makes them most sense to ask under "managing your flock", so here it goes. I have a few SLW and BR, and they are laying decent enough, and I have plenty that are fertilized too and I incubate when I can. My problem is eating them though. When I hard boil them, I have the poblem where the shell loves to stick to the inside of the egg and I end up pulling a bunch of the "good stuff" off with the shell. Then I am left with shredded egg white, yolk and a bunch of tiny eggshell pieces in it. The shell also likes to break into very small pieces too and is a pain to peel. As for taste, they are fine. I have never had this problem with eggs before, and I feed them Orschelns 16% Layer crumbles, as well as table scraps and the leftover shells from eggs. I collect my eggs everyday and keep them fresh. My eggs are never in my fridge for longer than 3 days before they are eaten. Anybody ever have this problem? Should I change their diet or maybe add some vinegar to the water when boiling? I run them under cold water after boiling them as I have heard this helps, but to no avail. Anybody??
