Unidentified Rooster

My Mom adopted this rooster to start of her chicken coop. So far he is all she has

She is looking for laying hens of any sort in S.Maine

What kind of Rooster is he?

That's what my first thought was silver spangled Hamburg, but what about the black tail feathers.... he's probably a "mut"! Good look'in guy for sure
