Uninsured Motorist Vehicle Insurance. Do you have it?

I would not do without it! Too many folks are driving without insurance even they are barely making ends meet but in the long run, it would be wise to keep that on your coverage.

When I met my hubby, he drove without insurance because he didnt have a job but needed to find employment. Got pulled over several times, ticketed and fined. A very HARD lesson for him to learn. He had to straightened up, pay off his fines, and keep insurance on his cars IF I am so worthy of him. He did and been over ten years since he kept insurances. He got lower rates after five year probation with the insurance company. Good thing he never had an accident but you never know. If he ever did, his butt would be nailed to the wall by ME! A few years ago, the State of Illinois required that all of us should have uninsured driver's insurance including in the policy in case it does but it is the law NOW that you MUST have insurance on your cars or you would lose your license. The judges now are pressing HARD on repeated offenders and no sob stories will help to lessen the charges or fines. My husband is a good example for teenagers, with the experience he had, he tells young drivers GET INSURANCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have to pat on my back for that!

So whatever you do, please pay your insurances, we would thank you for it!

I hope that you didn't misunderstand my post. I DO have insurance. I have FULL COVERAGE. My question was about uninsured motorist insurance. Is is NOT mandatory in Louisiana that all drivers have uninsured motorist vehicle insurance. It is an OPTION for us. NOT having car insurance is not an option for me. It's a requirement. I DO pay my insurance. I was just getting everyone's opinion. Sorry that you misunderstood the post.

For What it's Worth.........

"Uninsured Motorists" Coverage and "Underinsured Motorists" Coverage varies from State to State.

What is or is NOT covered is different from one State to the other. Be SURE that your coverage is explained to you correctly by your insurance agent.

In Some States it only covers MEDICAL and does not cover property damage.

Be CLEAR on this.....

It is a very good idea here in Louisiana to have uninsured motorist insurance, even though it
is not required. We have some of the worst drivers that there is and so many of them are
illegals who do not even hold a valid drivers liscense, much less even the minimum coverage
that is required. (I am speaking as a former law enforcement officer)
So I would get it to cover myself because there are way too many driving our roads who
are not covered for various reasons.

First pic shows how far that tiny car carried my big truck an trailer an load off the road.
Second pic shows the side that did not get hit to show how twisted the frame is. Truck looks like a half moon.

Now I'm driving a truck with a twisted frame because some 35ish business man thought he was to good of a driver to ever mess up. Of course he thought that I should have not tried to turn left when he tried to pass me.

Good thing We were not hurt an the truck an trailer were still drivable. This was in Sweet-water Tn. It was a long way home to Ga.

Still don't have it but I will soon.

OUCH ! I bet you wished you had it back then huh?

One of my clients told me that when he was stationed at Fort Polk, La., they found out that La is the worst state for uninsured drivers. He said they were told it was because so many of the workers are barge workers, or something where they are gone for a month or more, so it was cheaper to PAY THE NO INSURANCE TICKET than it was to keep insurance on a vehicle they only drove sporatically. Might want to ask about this, to see if its still true. They told me their insurance rates were going to be really bad, but they left it all in Illinois and kept it like that.
