Uninsured Motorist Vehicle Insurance. Do you have it?

I did not read all the posts, but I carry full coverage including uninsured motorists on all 3 of our vehicles. Reasoning, we have been hit more than once and the idiots did not have insurance, nor anything else such as a job where we could get anything to fix our vehicles. Also I can't afford to go out and pay repairs or buy another vehicle, especially now since I am unemployed. Just in case you are wondering, our vehicles are not new, the newest is 1998 and oldest is 1991. But for the few dollars a month it adds to my payment Uninsured Motorists coverage in worth it.

and always get medical coverage. period. even if your HMO says it covers it. NOT really is what i learned. Even if the accident was your (DS) fault, make sure YOU are covered for medical, not just the other! Learn from my fail.

And get a lawyer, not matter what DH says.

Absolutely. It's against the law here not to have it.

I suggest you get it unless you have the money to repair or replace your vehicle is a hit and run driver hits it or one that does not have insurance-
I work in insurance claims and there are plenty of people out there that will say they have insurance and don't - it is worth it .

My mother was in 2 accidents about 10 year ago with her 'new' mustang.... then her new replacement mustang was in an accident following that one!

Both drivers were uninsured. Lets just say she couldn't afford to replace the second one... the first one she still had to replace out of pocket!

Get it!

I wonder why Uninusred Motorist Vehicle Insurance is mandatory is some states and other states it's not mandatory. Wouldn't you think it would be mandatory in all states? I wonder what's their reasoning or thinking behind making it an option in some states.

It is because INSURANCE is "regulated" by the States.
