They're pretty girls. Did the neighbor get them for pets or protein (eggs and meat)

They got them for eggs, and I think for the novelty as well. I know they recently had a daughter, so the pullets seem to be almost forgotten about. I am not sure if either pullet is laying yet.

Perhaps you could offer to take them on and share eggs with them? Just a thought. I know mine lay more than my family eats so that's what we do

I've actually thought about that They are beautiful, and we have been talking about adding two more pullets to our flock.

Yeah, I would just ask if they would be okay with you keeping them, at least for now. They would probably be happy to know that they are being cared for while they adjust to their new baby.

It agree that you owning the pullets would be a good solution.

If the owner doesn't seem to actually want the pullets any more, but is hesitant about giving them to you, you could offer to buy the pullets (but do think about what price you consider reasonable, before making an offer.)

I talked to my neighbor, and they asked me to help them clip the chickens' wings. I will be doing that tomorrow afternoon when his wife is home, and hopefully they will stay in their yard!
