Unknown creature got one of my hens last night. . .

I am sorry for your loss. Is there a way you could live trap the animal that got her and re-locate him? I'm just thinking about your other babies. I would hate for them to go the same way.

I think it is a possibility but there was an exception with her and that was that she was outside the fenced in area. She had done it once before and was waiting at the door to the fenced in chicken coop the next morning. She's small and gets under the fance that is their free range boundary. I guess I should say she was small. I think where there is one creature there are more so I don't know that trapping would do me much good. I will be much more diligent in making sure that everyone is inside their area before nightfall definitely and will be letting one of the dogs stay out during the night from now on instead of sleeping in their nice cushy bed inside. Time for them to earn their kibbles!
