Hello Folks!
We got this lil guy in a shippment of Turken roos the day after Easter. We call him June Bug. He earned the name by saving my wife from one of the dastardly beetles that had found it's way in and was flying about inside as we were watching the chicks the first night in their new Big Coop.
I'm assuming he's the "Free Exotic Chick" from MMcM's, but I can't ID his breed. Any ideas???
His shanks are light olive, more like a buff turken than an amercuana. His hackles look to be penciled redish. I was thinking maybe a NHR but the NHR pullets I have have different colored legs.
He almost has the stance of a Cornish but has a single, not a pea, comb. I guess he could be a cross of somesort but I was under the impression that MMcM's only sells pure bred chicks.
The pic quality isnt too hot but he is a rambuncious little feller and hard to get him to stop for a pic.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!
Update: Well, as you can see, Junebug has grown into a fine looking young rooster. Still undecided as to his background, but it really isn't important to me. He's turning out to be a really cool bird, laid back and friendly.
