unknown rooster

Could he be a buff laced polish crossed with an ee second generation? Maybe some RIR thrown in?

Maybe. Problem is he has clean yellow legs. Polish have white skin plus slate, most EE have willow or slate legs. It's impossible to get yellow or white legs from stock with only slate or willow leg birds because Id is required for yellow or white legs. (when other things like barring is not present).

For that to happen, it would have to be polish with green legged EE then bred with RIR or production red or even a red sex link type(these three all have yellow skin with Id, resulting in yellow legs) with white tail/neck for the necessary dominant white present in this roo.

If white or yellow legged EE are either common or not rare, then it could be EE and buff lace mix.

RIR is not necessary for the red color, btw, if you mix buff with birds that have dark red hackles/saddles then a lot will show darker color than buff. Also he has only one dose of dominant white(as evidenced by black speck on tail), the red/buff is less diluted than on birds pure for dominant white. Most buff laced polish are pure for dominant white, making them look 'buff'. With just one dose of DW some probably would be darker.
