Hi, I was wondering about my unopened expired (8/16/2017) container of yogurt. Can I feed this to my pullets?

chickens cannot digest milk products. It is safe to give them a little bit of yogurt but too much will give them diarrhea. I would toss the yogurt that is expired even though it might be ok. Personally, I'd give it to them if it still smelled good. The bacterial culture in the yogurt most likely will keep other bacteria from growing in it. And, that same bacteria breaks down the lactose in the milk product.
Kefir is a better option, it has more strains of probiotics and number in the trillions compared to roughly five to ten million in the best yogurts. Lactose is consumed more readily in kefir as well. In any case there are no living probiotics in Yoplait, no matter how fresh it is or isn't.
I'm really confused.....Some say yes, others say no.Personally, I'd give it to them if it still smelled good. The bacterial culture in the yogurt most likely will keep other bacteria from growing in it. And, that same bacteria breaks down the lactose in the milk product.
