Oh and btw my mom doesn't believe it's outdated b/c we got it in March.

Even if that is the mill date its still 6 months old. But its your chickens, so you make the choice. GC

If she insists on using it, buy a fresh bag and mix the two. Also be sure to add vitamins to the water just in case the feed has lost a lot of nutrition.

I'd use it. A "Best by date" doesn't mean "Don't Use It" date or it's "Rotten After This" date. After all, chickens do walk around in their own crap and eat all sorts of nasty stuff off the ground.

Obviously your mom is going to do whatever she wants, there's nothing we can say on here that will change her mind.

In the future don't buy feed in advance and get the freshest feed you can get for optimum nutrition.

Buy feed as needed and check the dates when you do

Perhaps you can do some extra chores to earn some money to buy a fresh bag of feed. I would not use old feed. Might as well feed them sawdust.
