unpopular chicken opinions??

it’s such a shame too, i feel glad to have gotten birds and taken care of them well but i’ve always wondered what happens when the bargain bin at tractor supply needs to be filtered out because the chicks are too old, where do the poor unwanted chicks go?

Holy cow people snap them up. The boofs are first to go. If you see something you want, grab it. Come back later and all you get are a few meat chickens or maybe assorted bantams.

I just hope any that dont find homes are culled humanely and not just ignored

Doesn’t Tractor Supply usually have chick days for a few weeks? In 2020, Chick Days went on all summer. That’s how I grabbed an extra half dozen of Penedesenca. Not walking out without those. Just got my first egg too. Dark chocolate brown just like it’s supposed to be

I wouldn’t worry about them, I’m sure that people buy them before that happens. It is really sad what happens to male chicks, though.
