Now there's an unpopular opinion.
I doubt roosters really do that much to protect your hens.

I really think they alert the hens, long before the girls have seen the danger. At my house the danger is in the sky. All my birds, ducks and chickens, are used to the dogs and cats, so there’s no ground fear. They will alert sometimes if the cat enters their run when the birds are in there lounging around.

1st before I do we’re gonna start with you don’t own gamefowl. You have some birds that look like jungle fowl that clearly aren’t game.
