Here's one more for tonight:

Free ranging isn't the best thing ever. Sure most birds like it and it's convenient that they can eat something other than feed and poop somewhere not underfoot (unless they discover the porch XD)

But I have some bantams that are more than content living cooped up all day. Possibly my least bickering group. Plus they're safest out of all the birds I own.

I have 2 groups of free range and 4 smaller confined groups and I have to say I don't think the 2 larger, freer ones are completely better than the other 4.

But you haven’t seen how excited my birds are in the mornings when I open that door. It is a race to the finish as they head toward the barn. Dropped sweet feed and droppings from the night before. Yum!

And, I personally enjoy watching my birds scour the yard! That increases my dopamine levels and that’s what it’s all about.

1. You didn’t answer the substance of my point. You just asked me a question about me. So that probably means you agree with me and don’t want to admit it.

2. You agree with me.

3. Again, you haven’t actually stuck your neck out and answered with substance. You just asked another question. A proper answer would address why they shouldn’t be on every farm that can handle them, where I say they should be, for the reasons they’re such hardy survivors and people beyond closet cockfighters needs to be raising them to see the benefits of them and to make them mainstream.

4. Here you’ve given me an answer. But what you’ll find is that you’re putting you own opinion not just against mine but many old time cockers. Many old time cockers believe that walk raising is the best way To raise gamebirds if you have the room and that it’s not true that real game birds constantly try to viciously kill each other if they have room to spread out and avoid each other.

Seems odd for you to come to this thread and get your goat so taken simply because I wrote an opinion you don’t like but actually keep yourself. Sounds personal to me.

7. Our whole society in a dietary sense is based on the notion of the disposability of chickens. We wouldn’t factory raise them like we do if they weren’t. So it seems counterproductive to carry on about an individual chicken dying here and there. It happens.

Cockers who claim to “show” their birds use that at slang for fighting them. I know good and well people who claim to “show” their birds couldn’t disagree with the above, and someone who does is just being contrary for the sake of being contrary.

Speaking of which, I’ve generally kept my comments to the substance of my arguments. Many of you have sure enough fell down into the dung heap and have done nothing but make personal attacks on me. Which is fine, because when people do that it 1) shows their agendas and 2) means they can’t hold their own toe to toe on the substance of the issues so personal attacks are all they can make.

So I’m not even going to begin to answer the various personal attacks many of you have made on me. But I will point them out from time to time so readers observing can decide who seems to have character and who doesn’t.

Oh. My. God! You have obviously been away from work too long. And I’ll bet your wife (if there is one) is ready, along with us, for you to get your a$$ back to work. I think you suffer from ADHD (as many of us do), but are unmedicated. Please make an appt with your PCP!

FL BULL, I don’t know much at all, including the terminology, about cock fighting and, furthermore, I don’t care to. (There is a gamefowl thread for that. Go there, please, to carry on.) However, I find it interesting that a criminal prosecutor would carry on this type of conversation unless s/he was working toward trying to set someone up. And why? Why would I be making it known in advance I’m a prosecutor if I was trying to set someone up? Unlike how many of you are behaving, I’m actually respectful of people enough to put it out there in advance so that people don’t say stupid things. Those who I’ve had private conversations with can attest to that.

Exactly. And I’m not the one being vicious. Its very clear that I’m arguing the substance my points, most everyone else, you included (unless I’m misunderstanding you?), have degraded to personal attacks. The worse I’ve done is this thread is call a girl “honey.”
