Unread threads

Next I'll go into a subforum. Incubating & hatching eggs for example:

This is what I see:

Dark Orange & Bold = New posts. I haven't visited that thread.
Dark Orange & Not Bold = No new posts. I haven't visited that thread.
Orange & Bold = New posts. I have visited that thread before.
Orange & Not Bold = No new posts but I have visited that thread before.

I'll look down the list and see what threads interest me. If none then I'll click "mark read". If there are then I'll open the thread and look at it. Sometimes I'm in and out and sometimes Ill be in the subforum for awhile.

This next part is made up to be an example because I have no real example at the moment.

Since I'm hatching eggs at the moment, the thread "Can a chick shrink wrap when it is unzipping?" interests me so I open it to read.

When I'm done I'll click "mark read" so I can see what is new the next time I come back. So this now what I see:

Then the subforum refreshes on its own. Notice how nothing is in bold. There is no unread threads.

After that I leave that subforum and visit the other subforums and do the exact same thing.

The next time I come back to the site, I browse the exact same way. Going into the subforum "Incubating & Hatching Eggs"

I'll see a new thread that interests me. "Testing incubator humidity" for example. Had to just draw one in real quick. See how it is Dark Orange & Bold. Means I've never looked at it and there are new posts.

When I click on the thread, it automatically moves me into the middle of the conversation like I have read the previous posts when I have not. Nor have I ever seen the thread (as illustrated as not being on the list in the post above) since it is something that interests me is how I know I haven't seen it before.

Ok I'm finished with my examples now.
