Unsteady / stiff chick - SLW

I had trouble getting good pictures of her this morning and thought I'd try again this evening, but got sick, so the bad photos from the morning are all I have. Hopefully I can sleep this off and be back out tomorrow and get better shots.

I'm not sure it's exactly knock knee-like, maybe a touch, but it's like she holds her legs a little closer together to help support her body. She lays down to rest more often than the others, she's usually not down for a very long time, she just takes more frequent rest breaks. When I compare her to the other chicks, there's nothing grotesquely off, she's just not quite right.

Hard to know, but I do agree, there's something a little off about her in the photos. Perhaps genetics, something developmental. I don't think it's anything that you can corrected. Giving support through vitamin therapy and seeing that she's eating/drinking well, etc. may be the best you can do.

I've seen intestinal shed the last two days, if I see some from today too I was going to start Corid. The chicks are 9 and almost 12 weeks old. If I do Corid I know I have to stop the B complex, I'll still give the vitamin E, but do you think stopping the B and doing Corid might negatively affect Einio?

Probably not, her feed should contain a small amount of daily b vitamins.

Einio seems a bit worse, I'm not sure if it's the heat? She's been keeping her tail down and seems to be a bit more unbalanced, not tipping over but just awkward movements. Her comb inward dent is still there and she is paler than all the other chicks. She's a cute little thing, but I'm not sure if she's suffering or is ok even though she's a bit abnormal, if that makes sense?

I'm sorry that she's not doing very well.

Heat can be hard on them, so I'd watch to make sure she's getting plenty to drink and has shade.

The balance issues may be with her all her life it seems. You can always start her back on the vitamins for a while and see if they help.

I agree, she is a cute little thing.

Good news on Einio! She's much better and fairly normal. If you watch her you can still see she's a bit off, but I saw her picking her own pecking order spats yesterday and holding her own 😃 she seems very alert, when she stands she's pretty steady and only shows some odd motions as she adjusts to balance herself. She's getting around well and when she starts laying eggs I don't think she'll have any problems so I'm feeling much better about her quality of life. She's still not 100% normal, but she's looking close enough for me to be happy about it.

I need to get a new photo, with her comb developing, the dent is not moving so its looking like an inside out finger of a glove or a belly button.

Thank you @Wyorp Rock for all your help!!!

Glad to hear Einio is doing well!

I would love to see new photos of her❤️

Einio!

I did see her try to do a wing and leg stretch this morning, it wasn't successful, but otherwise, she's cruising around quite well 😊

She still likes to eat out of my hand, no touching her, but once she sees the food she'll come over.
