I would try mixing some apple cider vinegar in her water and try to get her to eat some greek yogurt with crushed up egg shells in it while giving her calcium supplements. I wish you the best!

Thanks for your help:love
I spent more time with cookie and spoiled her, she’s back to normal and spends the day playing with her sister again. She just sleeps a little more than before though. Also she didn’t lay weird eggs anymore.:)

So happy to hear this and please keep giving her the calcium supplements, heavy egg layers need it. If you can pick up some kitten food and try some of that sprinkled on top of her feed it helps bring in those feathers nice a pretty.

Hi again,
Cookie’s been in pain again, she was in distress and isolating herself for 2days and finally she laid an egg without solid egg shell and egg yolk!! I saw her eyes were teary when she eventually laid, I can’t imagine the pain she’s been through.
I called the vet he says it’s normal and it’s due to calcium deficiency, And actually I’m sick of his abnormal indifference . They have access to calcium supplements 24/7 besides the multivitamin supplement they take 3 times a week. I know that the vet has studied about poultry much more than me but I feel there’s something else. I mean I know cookie, I’ve been living with her and watching her for the past 2years and she was never like this. She had trouble laying once or twice due to calcium deficiency but it was never persistent . I took them to vet clinic about 5 times this summer, and they were never examined properly and now I can no longer afford it. Please help Cookie & I if you can :(

She may have an infection any chance you can get her on an antibiotic? I am not sure which would be best maybe @casportpony can recommend one to try to help her. But if she is internally laying she may have EYP. Not saying I know for sure but from what you describe something is defiantly making her feel bad.

Can you post some pictures and a video of her? To post video, upload the video to youtube or vimeo than copy and paste the link here.

I know that when mine are laying eggs while molting they can feel pretty crummy. I would like to see pictures and a video so I can get an idea of how bad she is.

The only antibiotics I have at home is Enrofloxacin , Is enro fine?
I don’t think it’s internal laying, Cause after the pain she’s been through she eventually laid. But with a very soft shell, and no egg yolk; At least I didn’t see an egg yolk, there’s a possibility that daisy has eaten it..

I have no video of her, I was stressed It didn’t occur to me. But I have a few photos.
When she’s in pain, she keeps knocking at the door until I open the door, she comes inside the house, finds a warm dark place and stays there for hours! Till she lays an abnormal egg & her feathers doesn’t look good during this period
Also The lukewarm bath doesn’t work for her. She gets so stressed and starts panting as soon as I put her in the tub.
