Unwell girly, please help

Thankyou, no tapeworm segments observed, so I have started their course today, will let you know if I have any more problems. I believe the breeder only wormed them once, so it seems the most likely theory now!

So after day 1 of treatment, she is still not completely herself, still slow moving, not really eating enough, drinking a lot though. How long does the worming normally take to work?

Worms put a huge strain on their system, especially when they have gotten worn down. I'd think in a few days I'd like to see her color get better and her looking around more. Just keep giving vitamins in water..maybe a little sugar for extra energy....

Thank goodness, she appears to be on the mend finally! This morning she woke me up at 6:30am with her chatting, and when I opened the door of the crate, she flew up into my lap. I have put her back outside with the other girls, who are also undergoing worming treatment, and she has perked up no end, digging into the corn with the rest of them, and going round with the group!

Phew!!

Ellie

Ps, is it normal for the worming to cause an increase in the amount of faeces produced, only I have never seen as much poop from one night as I did this morning!!

Well if her body is picking up and absorbing the nutrients, I guess it could make her poop more, lol.
Glad to hear she is doing better. Still keep an eye on her to make sure she doesn't relapse. When they have been that weak it is easy for their immune system to be compromised.

It wasnt just her poop, it was the other girlies too! I had to do a full muck out today, despite having only just done one on Sunday! I have kept her outside with the other girls, because she seemed much less stressed with them around rather than indoors alone, hope the cold doesnt make her unwell!
