When my sister and I were little, we would lift up a hen's tail and watch her lay an egg!

Yes, we were sick little girls!!! We also liked to see what was in their gizzard when we butchered, so Mom would split it open and show us all the little stones, glass, etc.

You know, I once worked with a bunch of older women who did not know that eggs came from a chicken's anus! They even argued with me about it, said that chickens had another opening, a vaginal opening, like humans!

I felt compelled to explain the anatomy to them and they all swore off ever eating eggs again! How does one get that old and not know????
