I've never been to the Barnsville auction but I've heard they usually have alot there. I think this is only the second year for the Long Prairie exotic auction, at least with these auctioneers. I went last year and it was ok. There was quite abit of poultry but once again, with the exotic sale, you have to wait through all the hoofed stock before they get to it. It will probable be this way in Barnesville also. You could try to contact the auctioneers and see if they could give you an estimate on when they would be starting the poultry. I talked to the one that's doing the Long Prairie auction and he said the sale would start with house birds which include baby chicks and ducks and then they would do the hoofed stock and then rabbits and poultry. He kinda figured it would be 1 or 2 before they start them. My experience with these auctions would guess later but you just never know.

Forgot to add, there is a $6.00 per person admission fee at Long Prairie. Don't know what it is at Barnesville.

I've been to the barnesville sale a couple time. They run 2 rings so the hoofed stock is sold in one and poultry, rabbits, and alot of "stuff" is sold in the other. The last sale I went to I left at about 6pm and the sale was still going.

The "critter exchange" in Isanti is tomorrow morning at 9 am in the parking lot of the federated co op in case anyone is interested
503 Dahlin Ave
Isanti, MN 55040

I'll be there

It really sucked, Hardly anyone there and usually the first one of the season is alot busier but there were 2 other swaps earlier today so i think alot of folks went to those and skipped the isanti swap. I sold a serama cockerel to a fellow BYC member

I believe the next one is in july but not sure about the date. Next month it's in princeton and again im not sure about the date and i have no info on that swap. I went once and it ended up to be a HUGE waste of gas.

Did anyone go to the Long Prairie sale Saturday? I went to Barnesville but did not stay very long, they had a lot of junk and not many birds I was interested in. I was looking for some bantams, they only had a few.

I went to Long Prairie yesterday. There really wasn't a whole lot there. There was alot of baby ducks. Some Calls, Runners, Pekins and I think a few others. I'm really not looking for ducks so didn't pay alot of attention. I did get some Serama eggs though so I'm glad I went. There were 15 Serama and 3 Spangled banties in the carton. Would anyone know what the Spangled might be besides possibly OEG? Or maybe a cross since they called them banties instead of bantams? That's one bad thing about auctions, you can't talk to the owners so you really don't know what you're getting.

The BCPPA is hosting a poultry swap and flea market Sunday June 14th. Gates open at 7am with a $3 admission fee for anyone over 16 years old. Located at the Brown County fairgrounds in New Ulm, MN. Just a block off highway 14 by Runnings Fleet & Farm. Huge coliseum with bathrooms and lunchstand available. You are also welcome to sell outside too. Everything usually wraps up by noon, so plan on a early day. Rain or shine. Hope to see everyone there! This is the last one hosted by this club til the shows this fall.

Also, another Exotic Bird & Animal auction coming up June 20th, 10:00 a.m. in Barnsville

There is another swap at the Isanti federated co op on July 11th I believe it starts at 9 am. The last one there wasn't very good because of 2 other swaps that morning. This one should be a little better i hope.

Rachel, I am interested in the Isanti swap. Does it really start at 9:00. The ones in Forest Lake start as soon as the sun is up. Most of the trading happens at around 6:00.
