Upcycled Chicken Feed Bag bags (pic heavy)

I would love to have the pattern as well.. I know of a certain older lady (a relative of my husband) who loves chickens and this would be a nice surprise to put her chirstmas gift in

I would so buy one of these - you should consider selling either here or on Etsy. They look fantastic - and you'd be surprised how hip chickens are these days in my neck of the woods. Please post when you are ready to sell some!!

Awwww!! Thanks everyone! I will try to get some instructions together. A large amount depends on the bag you are cutting from, so I'll probably post a few variations once I get some pictures of the next bags being cut. I would definitely consider a trade of good condition bags for a finished tote, I don't have that many chickens, so we don't go through bags that fast

@bella1210, yep, lots of sewing, but fast, easy stitches. The only drawback might be is you need a really patient machine. The material is so slippery that the feed dogs can't grip it well, so finishing the bag is a little, well, I just have to pay real attention (I usually watch tv when I sew), lol. But I think if you can sew some basic stitches you'll be fine

One hint for sewing with something that is really slippery ( like a feed bag) - fold a piece of paper and place it along the edge where the seam will go and sew the seam right through the paper. Pinning the paper in place helps. Smaller stitches will perforate the paper so it rips off easily. You can use wax paper, it rips off easier if you use a larger stitch, plus you can kinda see through it to make sure you are still sewing in the right place.

I'll start saying my bags for you, I know I have one in my car now. I hope you put the instuructions on here I would like to make one but I'm not sure about the lining.
