Update 2/7 Before and After pics! - Another stray, but such a cutie!

Well, I heard a ruckus on the porch and thought it may have been the stray, so I grabbed my camera and...

Not so much. I'll try again in the AM.

Not the best picture, but here it is! Every time I got its attention to get it to look at the camera, it would run over to me and try to jump in my lap!

It is sitting in a cat carrier on my porch now. I have an 11:15 appt with the vet to get it tested/vaccinated/etc.

Just got back from the vet! Yay! She has a spay scar, is about 3 or 4 years old, and was negative for both FIV and Felv. Woo!

But there is one catch... She has a bunch of bite wounds. Looks like she tangled with something recently. Sooo, with the unknown rabies vaccine status...

I would keep her and handle her with kid gloves for a few months, but I have small kids (2 years and 5 years old). I can't take the chance.

The vet offered to board her overnight for me until I work it all out.

I think I need to find a foster home to hold her for 6 months until we can be sure of her rabies status. Then I would take her back.

It is probably a non-issue since she has a spay scar, she has most likely been vaccinated.

In any case, the cat is at the vet being vaccinated, defleaed and dewormed.

It's never easy. Anyone in the area willing to foster a cat for 6 months at which point we would take her back?

That is interesting about the quarantine period. My vet very specifically said 6 months... Could it be a PA thing?

Really, really strange. She was very clear about 6 month quarantine though.
