Redinator's First Hatch-Along w Bonus Broody: And Everything Thereafter

Ok, I moved the 2 week olds out yesterday, but I swear I hear peeps coming from the incubator. I put the eggs up to my ear and didn't hear anything.

The bantam eggs are at 16 days, but I might go ahead and candle them and turn up the humidity and remove two the turners today to be safe.

I candled the eggs in the larger incubator. Day 16 for the bantam eggs, day 6 for the larger eggs.

I removed two of the turners and added water for humidity. I decided to leave the tuner plugged in for the larger eggs until I see movement or piping of the bantam eggs. There's also one questionable large egg sitting loose since it wouldn't fit in the turners so it won't be getting turned until the bantams hatch.

Bantam eggs with phantom peeps.

No wiggles from the bantams. I woke up this morning to the humidity being low, I forgot to close the vent  . It's been sitting at 63% for an hour or so. If I don't see any activity before bed I'll add a wet sponge or rag and 🤞

Still nothing from the bantam eggs, but I added a sponge for extra humidity. If I don't see activity by tomorrow afternoon I'll candle and listen to them. I'm concerned I'm putting the other 18 eggs at risk of drowning if I leave the humidity high for too much longer though.

Normally I wouldn't mess with eggs once they go into lockdown, but I had to check these bantam eggs so I wouldn't risk drowning the other 18 for no reason if these weren't viable.

I was completely ready to give up on them, but then I saw the slightest wiggles. Unfortunately the auto focus wasn't cooperating so it's hard to see in the video.

I moved them to a smaller incubator and I had to put it on our kitchen counter. It isn't ideal, but it was the only spot I could find with an outlet within reach for the cord of this incubator. View attachment 4299067
