(UPDATE) 2 month chick can't stand up when she falls over

Chip is so adorable!! She has the sweetest eyes i can definitely see why she would be spoiled.

I have one frizzle and he is a handsome fellow but he has lost some fethers on his neck. I've been putting vaseline on it hoping if it's mites this will help. It looks as though it helped a little but any suggestions would be great.

I "blame" my boyfriend for the frizzles. He 'met' one at a feedstore and the bird did the typical cochin friendly thing. That was it- after that it was "black cochin frizzle bantam cockerel" or nothing.

What can you do when your bf wants chickens but buy them, no?

I have to say - the look *I* see on Chipper's face is this:

"Boy, do I ever have set up! Those other birds in the barn - they're so dumb. "

It is with a very heavy heart that I tell everyone that dear little Chip has lost her battle to live. She gave a great fight and was always bright and vocal when you called her name. We miss this little feathered imp painfully already. She was our "house chicken" as she would never have survived at all with the others. Thank you all for your advice and caring thoughts. She did very well till the end. Unfortunately, she had gotten herself wedged between her waterer and the side of her box and could not get out. She almost drowned herself but I fear had gotten water into her lungs. Vet said that she had pnemonia and probably would not survive. So we had her put to sleep to end her suffering.
