UPDATE 3/24/10 mrs. red is making another nest.due to kindle 4/3-4/9.

Look pretty healthy to me.
I had a male and female escape a year ago and Finally caught the female. But it turns out that she had a litter and now I have another black male running around

cute pictures! they look so adorable running through the snow. I'm just curious, can you pet them at all, or do you just watch them from a distance? You said you had the pregnant doe penned up, so I was just wondering if you caught her, or just kinda had to trap her. I've never had rabbits, but this seems like a great way to keep them! Might not be able to cuddle with them, but it sure is a lot less work than cleaning their cages constantly and such.

UPDATE:-------03/06/10 I THINK the red female MIGHT BE pregnant and in the process of nest building.i saw her out by the edge of the woods this morning with a mouthful of soft pine needles in her mouth.
then i found this quite weird.the white male came over to her and she dropped the pine needles out of her mouth and started making little faint squealing and moaning noises and made herself a big ball like she was trying to tell him to go away.was he trying to breed her and since shes already pregnant she doesnt want anything to do with him right now?i dont know.never expierenced this before.
i will get some pictures later.its a bit chilly out there.cole.

EVEN BIGGER UPDATE:--------03/06/10 i was watching the red female seeing where she was taking her nesting material.well i found it.in the coop exactually were the other rabbit was having her babies.!!!!!

WELL I WENT INSIDE FOR ABOUT HOUR TO HOUR AND A HALF AND WHEN I WENT BACK OUT TO CHECK ON HER SHE HAD A MONSTOROUS NEST(I DONT EVEN KNOW WHERE SHE GOT ALL THE HAY FROM) AND SHE HAD ALREADY PULLED FUR AND I THINK SHE IS HAVING BABIES RIGHT NOW.I THINK.I DONT KNOW FOR SURE BUT I HEARD SOMETHING WHICH SOUNDED LIKE BABIES SQUEALING.im so excited.i will post pics when i got check on her again!!!!!!
