They weren't supposed to start pipping until tomorrow but 2 have already pipped! Hubby and I can hardly keep our eyes off the bator LOL Gotta make sure the camera battery is fully charged!

The first one to pip (over 28 hours ago) has finally hatched, it's HUGE and it is staying curled up and bouncing around the bator and chirping very loud....DH is thinking it may have problems, I can't see anything visible but will keep a close eye. The only time it was stretched out was when it first popped out of the shell and landed on it's back:

it still wants to hold it's neck at an angle like that.

Yipee!!!!! DO NOT OPEN THE BATOR!!!!! LOL As hard as it may seem, you will have a better hatch if it stays closed. Learned this the hard way!!!!! Enjoy watching and congrats!!!!

The first pip is no further along, just a wee beak sticking out and peeping like crazy, the second pipper is out already and bouncing around in the bator. Two more eggs pipped in the last half hour. It's sooooooooooooo hard to keep my hands off the lid but I'm sitting on them so far LOL

First chick is stumbling all over in there and pecking at everything, even the other eggs LOL

Thank you! Second chick just popped out of the shell, original pipped chick looks like it's coming out backwards, or trying to, poor baby has been at it 24 hours now.

I bought the 3 day old ducklings at a local feed store, they had been dyed by the hatchery because it was close to Easter.
