just wanted to let y'all know that our chick that was nearly pecked to death is completely fine!!! her skin and feathers are starting to grow back and she seems very healthy!!! she sure is ugly now though!
half of all her feathers are either missing or stained purple from blue kote!!! my husband built a private coop for her and we put it right outside the other chickens yard so she could taunt them a little whenever she feels like it!
once the redness went away and the skin on her back started growing back, my oldest daughter got a good look at her featherless back and said "Eww, is that the 'chicken' part of her?" HA!! because she looked just like the fryers in the grocery store...all skin and no feathers!!!
