Update 8/31/08: 10 wks old are we roosters or hens?

I just wanted to say I love the way you set it up with the numbers. makes things so easy. I agree with most everyone. 4 and 8 are pullets and the rest are roos...

Thanks everyone for the replies I will post new pictures as they grow to see if anyone's answers change :O)

Just an update to my original post: #2, 3 and 7 are roosters because they are making their special rooster noise :O)

#4 and 8 are pullets.

#5 has yet to make a peep but I have a feeling it will not be long.

However, #1 and 6 are still question marks. Their combs and waddles have not grown. And they still look more like pullets in body shape and feathers(I will post a new picture within two days.) All the boys have saddle feathers and these two do not and look identical to #4 and 8 but they have those smaller waddles and combs compared to the boys.

Here are the updated pictures of the crew from 8/31/08: 2,3,5 and 7 are roosters because they are making their rooster noises. 4 & 8 are pullets definitely and I did not do pictures of them. 1 & 6 are the question marks. They do not have the saddle feathers like the boys and they are smaller. What does everyone think? They are now thirteen weeks old and the first picture is them at about 10 wks.

I am actually stumped! the comb and waddles say roo but because their saddle feathers look like a pullet im clueless. They are all the same age correct? Hmmm i guess id say pullets on 1 and 6 unless they are very slow maturing into their rooster feathers. Number 7 is gorgeous... what a handsome boy!!! they are all adorable but the barred/ creole markings on 7 are awesome!

Thank you for the compliments. I love 3 and 7 the most as far as color just now to decide what to do with them?? They are all the same age my hen hatched them herself. The hen is a game hen and the rooster is a White Rock. I never know what I am going to get but have had three clutches now with this cross just different hens. This one was the most colorful but in the other two I got barring on one chick in each clutch.

However, I too have been stumped but the boys are starting to get a little cranky and if they are pullets I want to start integrating them with my other young pullets and get them away from the boys.

Oh i can relate to that, those boys can get quite fiesty real fast. Best of luck to you i really hope those 2 are hens. I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for ya
